Went to a crop last night

My first in like 2 years?!?! I didn't scrap (too afraid to get the pics out & then be totally uninspired. Then what would I do?) Had a blast!! Worked on my Snowman ATC & they turned out darn cute. The moose ATCs are also done but my camera battery died so I have to recharge it before I can take pics. I'll post them later today.

Nothing new to post

It's been a trying couple of days. It started last week w/the burning not once but TWICE of desserts at work. It continued thru Monday when two attempts to produce healthy & tasty meals for the kids deteriorated into the Taco Bell drive thru and culminated yesterday when I managed to lock myself out of my house (I thought the fact that the house key & car keys were on the same ring went w/o saying but, I was wrong) for an hour or so. Of the 3 people who live near me that actually have keys, no one was home!!! Finally, my friend who lives 20 minutes away was located & she came to rescue me. (Will AAA break into your house for you??) Scott, btw, is in KC MO this week.

I did get Thanh's terribly cute CJ done. It's on it's way to Erin. In my efforts to get it in the mail on time (for once!), I forgot to take pics. My Moose ATCs are almost done & STINKIN CUTE if I do say so myself. I will try to post them tomorrow.

For now, I'm off to watch some TIVOed Martha & to hopefully have a better day tomorrow. It's supposed to be a balmy 6 degrees in the morning. Hopefully, the school district will think that's too cold for the little darlings who wait for the bus & cancel school. I'm afraid if they do, I'll still have to go in & bake brownies for tomorrow's special event. Wonder if I can incinerate them too?

Cute Michael's Find

So, we went to dinner out Outback Saturday night. I LOVE Outback. I even like their salad & I HATE salad. Well, darn the luck, Outback just happens to be very near Michael's. So we stop. When I walked thru the door, what was the first thing I saw? New Clear Stamps!!! Woohoo. I don't think I've ever used any of the other Michael's clear stamps I had but they were too cute to pass up. I was trying to be good so I only bought 3 sets. Aren't the adorable? I love this little "family". Should have bought more of those.

I went to Michael's in hoping to get a new embossing folder or die for my Cuttlebug. They had the CUTEST set of flowers that would be PERFECT for Thanh's CJ. They also had the b'day embossing folder so I bought both.

Yesterday morning, I was working on the CJ & cut out coordinating flowers. They won't come apart. WHAT?? So I try again. Still not fully cut in the middle. I notice the die is a little bent (but so are ALL my dies after I run them thru the maching) and my "b" plate is seriously bowed. I tried turning over my "b" plate & ran the die thru twice and still it won't cut all the way thru. The other 3 dies in the pack work just fine. Bummer that I have to run back over to Ms but, I GET to go back to Ms. Maybe they'll have some other new die I need & now I have another 40% coupon!!

Happy Birthday Paula

Yesterday, I went Eagle watching. My friend Paula's B'day is Tuesday and for her b'day monthy get-together, she wanted to go watch the eagles. So, we reserved a spot on the tram that leaves from Alton and made plans to meet up. Well, yesterday started w/a temp of 7 degrees!!! Yikes it was COLD!!!! I dressed as warmly as I could (I actually wore sneakers, not crocs!) grabbed my tiny little camera & headed out.

Brrrrrr. Good thing we decided to go w/the tram. At least it was warm inside & the drivers pointed out the eagles to us. I had no idea there were eagles without white heads. Until they turn about 5, their heads & tails remain brown. So, I've probably seen TONS of eagles & just thought they were a really big black bird. We had tons of fun. I think my toes are just now thawing.

Here is the card I made for Paula. Turned out just a bit pink, don't you think.

Sorry, nothing new to share....yet

I've been finishing up the ATCs from the previous post. I went w/the darker heart & liked it more & more as time went on. I'm starting my Moose ATCs and working on Thahn's 20 Questions CJ. Hopefully, I'll have both those done by tonite or tomorrow & can post. After that, it's on to my 10 Christmas cards for this year. I hope I make it!

Opinions Needed

This is for Kelly's ATC swap. In my head, I LOVED this idea but now, I'm not so sure. What do y'all think? The colors are not perfect even in real life. I loved the heart on the pinky-red b/g BEFORE I versamarked it, now it almost clashes.

Since I wasn't 100% sure on the colors before I started, I went ahead & stamped this color heart too. I'm wondering if it looks better....
I'm not sure y'all can help since the colors just don't look right in the pics.
What do you think of the layout? Does it need more?? Brads? Eyelets? I really don't think ribbon would be good. Any advice would be appreciated.
Now, a word on ColorBox chalk ink. I LOVE IT!!!! Both hearts were stamped w/this ink. The darker one was the initial stamp, the lighter one is the "stamped off" version. This ink colors so well!! It works FABULOUSLY on acrylic stamps. When used w/traditional rubber stamps, you can get multiple images without reinking with very little color loss.
And, you can stamp on skin with it. For some reason, my coworker decided she needed a heart tatoo & stamped one w/my stamps & ink. It initially rubbed off a bit on her shirt. We'll have to see tomorrow if it stayed on thru showers & sleeping.

Finally, a CARD

Ok, lets try this again. I tried to post this card & ended up deleting it. Then, since I don't have a scanner on this computer, I had to go back downstairs, use THAT computer to load the pic & then eventually come back up here & finish the post. Of course, I could have just done the post while I was on the downstairs computer, but that would be too easy. And, what then would I complain about??

I went to a SU Customer Appreciation gathering on Saturday. Got my new catty, FINALLY!! Made 2 cute projects. The penguin treat holder didn't hold up to the ride home (at the bottom of my bag where it was then left for 3 days!)
But I think this card turned out good. It wasn't as complicated as it first looked. You punch out the circles, cut out the flowers, line them up and add the center w/a brad. CUTE!
And, just an FYI, the guava double stitched ribbon is YUM!!!

Not a card but....

I've been having a bad week. I LOVE my job & the people I work with but, there is a huge hassel coming from "upstairs" & I'm not sure that it's worth it. If I quit, $$$$ will be tight (I make the "fun" money for the family; dinner out, movies, STAMPS!!) but we could make it. I can't decide what I'm going to do. Basically, I guess I'm waiting until the desicion is made for me.

Anyway, I decided I needed a little pick me up. Went to Archivers & bought some new toys. It's not much $$$ but it sure made me happy. The striped cardstock is for my Moose ATCs (waiting for Christie to send me some moose. There is not a moose stamp to be had in the bi-state area). The tan & hot pink cardstock is for Kelly's Love themed ATC swap and the stamps are their own reason for being. LOVE THEM!!!

I also got a whole stack of Cat eye chalk ink pads from Michaels. They are YUM. Should have taken a pic of them too.

No card to post

But I could show you pictures of every ornament that was on my downstairs tree. I took a pic of each ornament 'cause (someday) I'm going to make a digital scrapbook of them all! Of course I was over halfway thru when I found a better way to take the pic so the flash didn't wash them out so much but.....I'm NOT redoing them!! Over half the ornaments are back in thier happy little boxes & all the boxes are in a big rubbermaid tub. I'm really please at how well my tubs fit under my stairs. When Christmas is FINALLY OVER, I'll take a pic & show y'all.

I hope to get a belated b'day card done tonite (after laundry & more ornament mess & maybe some vacuuming. If so, I'll post tomorrow. I found that if I don't post SOMETHING everyday, I let the blog get away from me.

Happy Valentines Day

Ok, this looked MUCH better in my mind (which is odd since I'm told I have a "dirty" mind). Anyway, DD got VD socks at the $ Spot at Target. I saw these tags & said I must make a card with them. Well, I'm not 100% pleased with the results. So, since she got 2 pair of socks, I can try again.

As promised, a more timely blog

This is a project I actually did this year! These are for Christie's My Favorite Color ATC swap. Can you guess my favorite color? I scanned this on dh's computer, saved it to a flash drive & transfered it to my computer. What a pain!
It's back to school/work today. BLUCK!!! I wanna stay at home!! Even tho I have work, ds's TKD, gotta make dinner and promised dh (who will be in Seattle all this week, lucky duck!) I would start taking the Christmas tree down, I WILL make a card today!! If for no other reason than to make a blog post!

Christmas Cards

I found a card I didn't send. It's not the greatest which is probably why this one never got sent. The glue was a very "wet" glue and it warped my paper a bit. You probably can't tell in the pic so, I don't know why I'm dwelling on it. Anyway, this is the card I sent to most people.

The girls I work with saw the above card on a daily basis for about 2 weeks. I knew they were sick of it so I made a 2nd card to send them. This was almost an outright copy of a card I found on splitcoast but, in the hustle of the holiday, I didn't save the link or the name. Sorry!

You probably notice that these are photos, not scans. I got a new (much needed) computer from Santa. Of course it has Vista. Well, my scanner is older than the hills and, although it says it loaded the software, the scanner will not work. So, I decided I would just install dh's all in one printer & scan from it. For some reason, my computer has decided that I, the owner of the computer & the ONLY user on it am NOT the administrator so it will not let me add dh's printer. As Erin would say, it's POOP!!!

Welcome 2008!!

I resolve to be a better blogger in 2008
I resolve to get back into scrapbooking (where it all began)
I resolve to make 10 Christmas cards a month
I resolve to make more cards and to that end, I'm going to a) join more swaps and b) start going to my LSS at least once a month to scrap or stamp.
I have done a few things since we last spoke. I got all my Christmas Cards done and mailed and I finished Chris's (Stinky Dog at the Shack). Of course, I was to the last minute on both and have neither scanned.
I did make these snowman ornaments tho. I saw them first on Sherri's blog (she has a link to who she found them from). They turned out SOOO cute. I'm stalking the dollar spot at my Target for ANY baby socks so I can make more next year!

When I went to package up the snowman for delivery, I didn't have any appropriate Christmas shreds. So, what's a crafty scrapper supposed to do?? Use your hubby's shredder to MAKE shreds out of Wrapping Paper. Of course, double sided wrapping paper would have worked better but, i think this turned out cute!

Do you know what else wrappping paper is good for?? Ribbons. "What", you say, "how can you use wrapping paper for ribbons?" Take thin strips (not as thin as shredded, about 3/4 an inch is good. I folded over some leftover paper I had and just cut several sheets at once. Don't crease it while your cutting but a little fold isn't going to hurt. Then, with the blade of your scissors, run the strip over it just like curing ribbon. it will curl very cute! Slap it onto your present w/tape & cover the tape w/a cute stamped tag. Viola! Instant matching ribbon. Unfortunately, I didn't take a pic of this beautiful present. Next time I wrap, I promise to show what I mean.

Suprise!!

I'm still alive :P Things have gotten a little out of hand here at the Ferguson homestead. Life gets really, really crazy sometimes. Gee, now that the holidays are here, I'm sure things will slow down. Hahahaha. I do feel a little more in control at least over the house. Other things are completely out of my control & I need to let them go. As Sidney Freidman from M*A*S*H would say, "pull down your pants & slide on the ice".

Anyway, I KNOW no one is still reading this blog (and I really can't blame you), but here are some T'giving cards I made (and never got around to sending to anyone).

Is the muse back??

I don't know. I made lots of cards in the last 5 days. Maybe she is, maybe she's not. I don't want to jinx it.
